Meet the Founder – CJ’s Story
Aquariums have been part of my life for as long as I can remember. What started as a childhood hobby quickly grew into a passion for fishkeeping, breeding, aquascaping and creating natural, thriving environments.
After years of keeping fish and maintaining my own tanks, I often found myself wanting practical accessories that were more useful, more customisable and better suited to real aquarium setups. I started designing and making my own pieces to solve everyday problems, from managing floating plants to giving fish and shrimp better resting and hiding spaces.
That hands-on approach grew into CJAquatic. Every product is designed with real fishkeeping in mind, whether it is a floating plant ring, a betta rest, a shrimp hide, a cave, a plant holder or a themed aquarium decoration.
From a small workshop in Dorset, the goal has stayed the same: to create products that look great, work well and help fellow aquarists enjoy their tanks even more.

Custom work depends on the size, detail, material requirements and whether the idea is suitable for aquarium use. Can I send you my own model to be 3D printed?
In many cases, yes. You can send us your model or design idea and we can check whether it is suitable to print. We may need to review the file type, size, wall thickness, detail level and intended use before confirming. For aquarium items, we also need to consider whether the shape is practical, easy to clean and suitable for use around fish, shrimp or plants.
Are your products safe for aquariums?
Our aquarium products are designed for aquarium use and tested in real tanks before being added to our range. We focus on smooth shapes, practical designs and materials selected for aquarium accessories. As with any aquarium decor, we recommend rinsing items before use and checking them regularly as part of normal tank maintenance.
How quickly do you dispatch orders?
We aim to dispatch orders quickly, with next day dispatch where possible. Processing times can vary slightly during busy periods, for larger custom orders or when an item needs to be made to order. You will receive order updates through the website once your order has been placed.
Do you ship internationally?
At the moment, the website is mainly focused on UK orders. If you are outside the UK and interested in a product, please contact us before ordering so we can check whether shipping is available, what the cost would be and whether there are any restrictions.
How do I clean aquarium accessories?
Rinse aquarium accessories with clean water before placing them in the tank. Do not use soap, detergents, household cleaners or sprays, as these can be dangerous to fish and shrimp. For general maintenance, remove the item and gently rinse or brush away algae and debris using aquarium-safe water.
